New Item Poll

So the new AG releases are finally available! There's quite a few nice new items that I'm excited to make, but I'm not going to talk about my favorite items - I want to hear about yours!

Which items do you want tutorials for?

The campus snack cart has many cool components, and the paper doll version is sure to be a lot cheaper than the plastic version. (Anyone else recognize that print from the skiing outfit coat?)

The locker has many small details that will be fun to duplicate - I love the lock!

That microscope is goings to be an interesting challenge, as will the test tube holder!

The spork is cute, as is the bag, but I love best the challenge of the bento box.

Any items I missed that you want a tutorial for? Let me know in the comments!

New AG Items

Sorry for the lack of posting - I'll try to put up a tutorial tomorrow. The Internet that I have is very limited, so I'll do my best. I just wanted to share some photos of new AG items that will be fun to translate into paper doll outfits. This is only a sample of the new items that American Girl is releasing, because I can't get good photographs of the other items, but you can see them on places like Doll Diaries. These are not my photos, they belong to Angie from Gilly Gals.

Florals are always a fun challenge to draw, and the detailing on the shoes is very nice too.

This outfit is a little more plain, but the shirt seems cute and the colors are fantastic.

The detailing on the sweatshirt is going to be really tricky to draw, but it will be a fun challenge! I really like the color combinations in this outfit too. This is probably my favorite outfit of the release.

Again, a little plain, but the shirt design will be fun to draw.

Not a huge fan of the color scheme, but the structure of the shirt is cute.

Hair extensions for dolls. How cool is that? I only wish they had a few feather ones, but I'm really excited about these. The colors are a little boring (only blond and brown), but the nice thing about paper dolls is that you can change the colors up.

Overall I'm rather pleased with this new release. Most of the outfits are pretty trendy, and will be fun to draw. If you make any of them, please send pictures!

EDIT: in response to the comments - these were all the outfits that I could get good photos of, due to the limitations of my device I cannot set up a link to the site, and an interesting contest is in the works. Stay tuned!

Spotty Posting

For the next five weeks, I'm going to be out of town. I'll do my best to keep posting, but the Internet connection is so bad that the posting will be rather sporadic. I apologize for this, and I will do my best to keep a regular posting schedule.

Bad News

I took my computer in for repairs and found out that the cost to send it to the repair facility and get  it fixed would be astronomical. So my computer is out of commission right now, which means that it's going to be very hard to post pictures for the next five weeks or so, until I can get a replacement. I'm going to see about setting up an Instagram account for posting pictures instead. I apologize for the inconvenience, and hope that all this gets sorted out soon.

EDIT: Thanks to Anonymous's brilliant suggestion, I installed the Blogger app and now it's business as usual. Thanks so much, Anonymous!

Big Saige, Little Saige

My sister lent me her Saige to take some comparison photos with Violet.

Violet seems so miniscule compared to Saige!

Their matching belts. Excuse the glare on Violet's face.

Comparing their rings. Violet looks so pale compared to Saige, but that's because of the light.

As pretty as Saige is, I must say that I really love how Violet turned out. There's just something so satisfying about playing with a doll that you made yourself.

If you have pictures of your paper dolls, please send them to me! I would love to see and showcase different paper doll artists (and blogs, if you have one!)

Barbecue

I've been taking so many photos of Juliet, it only seemed fair to take one of the other dolls.

Who would you like to see more of?
