Thank You! (+ Giveaway)

Sorry for the radio silence lately - what with my workload and some difficult things going on in my personal life, I've barely had time to sleep, let alone update here. I'm still trying to work out a proper posting schedule that I can manage, but I'm going to try to be a little more present.

Anyways, the main reason for this post is to say a massive "thank you" to all of you who voted for me in the Doll Wardrobe Summer FDC. That project was, to use the hackneyed phrase, an incredible labor of love, and all your support means the world to me. I just found out yesterday that I won in the newbie category, and as a thank you I'm going to have a giveaway! I'm still working out the details, so if there's any prize or idea for the giveaway that you'd like to suggest, please let me know.  I typically make paper doll PDFs for giveaway prizes since there's no shipping involved and all the winner needs to provide is an email address rather than a shipping address, but if you want to mix it up a little I was thinking about making something crafty for a giveaway prize. Again, the details are uncertain at this point, so if you can think of something that would be fun yet not overly expensive (while I dislike talking about finances on the internet and I would really love to give away an extravagant prize because you guys are awesome, the fact is that I'm a student on a budget) please share it in the comments.

Lastly, I just realized that I never put up the second half of the Cerise Wolf tutorial. I'll put that up soon too - sorry about that!

  1. Hi! I voted for you ;) Isabelle Palmer was never on my doll wishlist, but when I saw your gorgeous pictures I totally changed my mind!!!! Is this going to be international? If it is, only send something by an envelope, or you and the receiver will have some hefty shipping charges. My ideas for the prizes are things like $20 gift cards for American Girl Place, sewing supplies, American Girl items etc.

    1. Thanks so much for voting and for your kind comment! I wasn't a big fan of Isabelle either at first (it doesn't seem that many people in the fandom are), but the fact that she looks exactly like one of my favorite book characters minus the pink hair really helped sway me.

Those are great ideas for prizes, but a) I can't afford to do that sort of thing and b) I don't love the idea of asking people to give their addresses over the internet. Not that I would ever share that information, but I know that many people aren't comfortable with the idea. That's why my typical giveaway prize is a PDF of paper doll items, because that's just an emailed file and people feel a lot better about contact via email then via the postal service (also, there are no shipping charges). However, I don't want to bore people by doing the same thing over again, so that's why I want reader input on what they want. Thanks so much for your insights and for voting and reading - I really appreciate it!

  2. Maybe you could create a paper version of Isabelle and your winning outfit? It would also symbolize why the giveaway was held, and be an awesome, doable prize!

  4. I love the idea of making a paper Isabelle and the winning outfit! I think the paper doll PDF is a good idea, I'm sure a lot of people want a N-drawn paper doll! I do!
Congrats on winning! I think I voted for you ( it was ages ago so I can't really remember!)
